The 57 finalists in the Rose of Tralee contest received a warm Limerick welcome as they made their only stop on their way to the Dome in Tralee. Roses, including Limerick’s very own Hazel Ni Chathasaigh, were met by green Limerick banners, and personalised messages from young fans of the contest, which takes place in August every year. They stopped at Alex Findlaters where they enjoyed a three-course meal in the Grill Room and some cupcakes made by local children and were serenaded by singing chef John Frawley. Unsurprisingly, his set list included the 19th century ballad, The Rose of Tralee! The Roses enjoyed a glass of Rosabelle wine with their meal. We look forward to welcoming the Roses back again next year.Read More
